More T-Ball

T-ball has been hilarious to watch. There is always some kid dancing or playing with his hat or with his hands down his pants. Thank goodness the worst mine does is play in the sand. Today he was the catcher. Maybe we will try soccer for him next season. T-ball has A LOT of down time.

Fun Day at school

The month of May was filled with fun activities. The school hosted a 'Fun Day'. Luckily I remembered to lather up the kids in sunscreen for hours of games. Sadly, I forgot to lather up myself. Abby was in tears the first day of summer vacation. IS THIS NORMAL? She would get really quiet and teary, when I asked what was wrong she would explain how sad she was that it was summer and she couldn't go to school anymore.

Eli is 6

Eli turned six this month. For dinner on his birthday he wanted waffles with strawberries, blueberries and whipped cream on top. He was SO excited when I squirted TONS of whipped cream on top. He asked for a skateboard for a gift so while I was at Target looking at them another dad and I had a conversation about health insurance. Saturday we had a few of his friends over for a Pirate Birthday Party. We went on a treasure hunt around our neighborhood that ended at their treasure, or pinata. Then we made eye patches and oceans in bottles. Thank you to everyone who came! Then that evening Chuck took the kids fishing. Eli had 'the best birthday ever"

Since Eli's coach and I are having a bit of a communication problem we missed picture day. So this is my pitiful attempt to create what might have been.

Good Boy Eli...

Now go and wait by the car and we will go to T-ball. I just have to grab your water.
Really, it was only 2 minutes later that I found this.

Yep, that's the sidewalk just beside the Jeep. If you pause the music you can actually hear him SnOrInG!

Happy Easter

U8 is Great

Abby started her soccer season this week. A few days before the game I got a call from the coordinator explaining that the coach had bailed out last minute, he was desperate for me (since I was Abby's contact on her sign up sheet) to step in and coach. How could I say no...if I did they wouldn't have a team and Abby was SO Excited to play. So what was I to do? I volunteered Chuck. After all he has coaching experience, even if it is in tennis for High School. So now Chuck is learning all the rules of soccer with no goalies and he is on the field the entire game.

P.S. If you are reading this, please use your judgement in telling him how he became the coach. As far as he knows the coordinator requested him.
