Today Eli had his graduation.
They said the pledge of allegiance
They sang a song about friendship
And got their diplomas
And got their diplomas taken away!

Fishing
We live about 2 miles from the state fish hatchery. It has been fun because right across the street from it is a canal that we can take the kids to fish at. And now that summer is here and school is out starting next week we have something fun to do really close to us. There is an old railroad trail that runs from behind our house right to it although so far we have only driven there. I imagine that when the kids are more adapt to their bikes we will be biking there.
It is a great place to fish because everytime the kids have their line in they catch Blue Gill. Chuck has even caught Catfish there. We are excited to spend a lot of time fishing!

Ice Cream Festival
This weekend Utica was having it's Ice Cream Festival. It is a small town about 30 minutes from our house that has the Velvet Ice Cream Factory. We have gone there a few times on our visits to Ohio. There is a cute little fishing pond and a little ice cream museum inside.
There was lots of wonderful food.
Then Eli was a part of the magic show as his ear 'magically' produced half dollars.
The kids got to go on horse rides. Abby chose to ride on the small pony...
and Eli rode the tallest horse there.
It was a really fun day!

OH, that's what poison ivy looks like?????????
We have this huge burning bush in our yard that the kids have decided is their clubhouse. They both climb up in it and hang out there for hours. Over the last few days we have been researching poisonous plants because we have been going fishing a lot and wanted to know what to avoid. Anyways, today Chuck noticed that there was a vine that looks a lot like poison ivy right in the middle of the clubhouse. I guess that explains the nasty rash Eli has had on his face and neck the last few weeks that I can't seem to get rid of. So until we get some gloves and can hack it out the clubhouse is CLOSED FOR BUSINESS.
